Well, today I am in a mood to give you back…if you are interested do continue to read on with the flow.

My journey started or for that matter began in late 90s when I was in a dilemma to choose a career for myself and I had just finished my graduation and was looking for a career because here I had to get into something to start my hustle to make a living.

Till then, I was completely unaware of the career to choose or niche to pick, but I had finished my graduation in commerce and did my certificate in computers and systems management. Things were not clear in my mind but I had the belief that I have to pick something up to start my journey in the workplace.

I forgot to mention that I came to a new city from a small place to do my post graduation in business management, so called MBA, I applied for a number of business management schools and ultimately got offer from two schools, one was at New Delhi and another one at Aligarh, but because I stayed at Delhi in a hostel, I decided to go with New Delhi for my MBA.

There was an air of enthusiasm and new energy to start a new learning and I was looking up to the program, but that soon was over after having no interest, not getting good grades and ultimately I skipped a few papers and was not successful and I had to drop out of it. Sooner, my hostel time was over and I had to rent out of a place nearby my hostel to stay with a couple of friends and really start searching for a job to sustain because now there was pressure from my father and my family to start earning and be independent.

So, now the real journey started to look for a job and the nightmare was that whatever I was offered back then was medical representative, sales, or marketing job, but I being not an outspoken or field person, I could not go through that and I had to look for my kind of opportunities or opportunities which suit my personality of a shy, sitting job, computer work kind of job, so my routine was to go through TOI’s Ascent which published jobs every wednesday and I used to just proofread each and every job with much anticipation that this is my kind of job, but to no avail.

I would call this is a trauma but it ended soon when I heard about a job from one of my friends that his elder brother worked in a company which was looking for a person who has good English, some computer knowledge and has an interest in medical language. So, I pounced on this opportunity by talking with his elder brother and he told me that this is a new US based company and will be conducting interviews in a five-star hotel at Delhi, so you can also try out your luck. So, that was the day, I prepared my resume and wrote an English test and gave the interview and I was selected.

This is how I got my first internship in a company with my first internship amount of Rs. 3000. Now, I was into a 6-month internship with the company learning typing, medical language, terminology and anatomy and developing my listening skills and slowly and steadily moving towards becoming a Medical Transcriptionist.

After successfully completing my internship/training, I was absorbed in the company and started earning my regular income and after a few months I too got an opportunity to visit US on further exposure training in transcription, but I completely missed out on that because till then I did not have my passport ready.

So, this was my first turning point to a career in medical transcription coming from a dropout in MBA, looking for an opportunity and ultimately becoming a medical transcriptionist.

Things now have become more or less stable with me forming my own start-up and diversified into other related fields.

I believe that there is destiny which takes you to your goal, you just have to believe in yourself and hardwork and consistent behavior does pay you back.
